SUMMER CONCERTS 2023
This summer we had the please of taking part in not one but two summer concerts as we were invited to sing with another of our MD Helen Swift's choirs: Thame and Haddenham Choral Society. 33 of us travelled down to sing in the St Mary's Church, Haddenham on 1st July and had a very enjoyable evening.
Two weeks later on 15th July it was our turn to welcome singers from Thame and Haddenham CS to join in at St Lawrence Church, Towcester. The weather was not kind with gusty winds and side-ways rain, but the church was still full of smiling faces who clearly enjoyed the sonnets, swing, amazingly talented musicians, prosecco and joining in with the moving words of Smile. Compere Mike John presided over proceedings from the pulpit with aplomb and the encore included a shock water pistol attack on the audience whilst being regaled by a rousing Drunken Sailor with actions!

Easter 2023 Haydn's The Creation with Trinity Camerata,
and soloists Claire Turner, Edward Price and Dominic Bevan
The church was filled with a hugely appreciative and supportive audience, with a standing ovation at the end speaking for itself.
The last chorus was especially joyful with voices raised in celebration of the Creation, accompanied by the skilful playing of Rowena Gibbons, the orchestra and vocal soloists under the inspirational guidance of our Musical Director Helen Swift. |
