Our Palm Sunday concert in 2019 will take place at St Lawrence Church, Towcester on 14th April 2019 starting at 7:30 p.m.
The main work will be Brahms, German Requiem which is Brahm's longest ever composition with seven movements, and as the title states it is all sung in the German language.
We are delighted to welcome back Claire Turner as the Soprano soloist who is joined by Gwion Thomas as Baritone soloist. Both are highly talented and we are in no doubt that you will agree with us. We will also have the South Northants Festival Orchestra to add to your enjoyment of the evening.
Performing the Brahms German Requiem is a wonderful challenge for each and every choir member, and is certainly a piece of music which needs a lot of concentration and spirituality. The piece is of a large scale for not only the choir but also for the orchestra and soloists.
As well as the German Requiem the choir will also be performing ‘The Lark Ascending’ by Vaughan Williams, ‘Crucifixus’ by Antonio Lotti and ‘I was Glad’ by Hubert Parry.
Tickets at £15 for Adults and £7:50 for those under 16 are available by contacting our Ticket Office by phoning Gill on 01908 542815, or by emailing her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our Summer concert will take place at St Lawrence Church, Towcester on Saturday 29th June 2019.
