Choral concert a huge success
Towcester Town Hall was packed on Tuesday evening (14th December) to hear Towcester Choral Society’s first concert under its new Musical Director, Helen Swift. The lively programme of modern and traditional carols, imaginatively and professionally presented, demonstrated that both Christmas music and choral singing have much to offer. The performance was clearly enjoyed by the appreciative audience.
The concert also saw the debut of a new keyboard and amplification system financed by Northamptonshire County Council’s Empowering Councillors and Communities Scheme. Chairman of Northamptonshire County Council, Cllr. Rosemary Bromwich, said, ‘We were delighted to help a group which has been part of the community for so many years. Towcester Choral Society has long been known for the quality of its concerts. The choir is a credit to Towcester and I look forward to seeing it go from strength to strength.’
