Accompanist - Tim Dolan
Tim’s interest in music started at the age of seven when he followed his father into the local church choir and began to learn the piano on an ancient instrument with lots of notes missing. Almost from the first day, Tim realised that he wanted to learn to play the organ and this dream became reality when he went to secondary school to find the school had one!
Studying the organ at Archbishop Tenison’s Grammar School and later under Richard Jenkinson Tim went on to gain a distinction at Associated Board grade 8 and the Archbishops’ Diploma in Church Music. He has been Director of Music at a number of churches in the South East and in Northampton, currently playing the organ at Wellingborough United Reformed Church. For seven years he conducted the Trinity Singers, a small concert choir in East Sussex. He has given a number of organ recitals at various venues, including Croydon Parish Church. For two years he was accompanist of the Northampton Male Voice Choir.
He began playing for Towcester Choral Society in September 2009 and, having directed choirs for over 25 years, is enjoying watching someone else holding the baton. Music is a hobby for Tim, his day job being Business Manager at Northampton Academy.
